Taiwan Motor Drivers Urged Crab Yield

Taipei (ANTARA News / AFP) - The driver of a motor vehicle in southern Taiwan urged to give their land crabs right on the highway during the breeding season of animals, the wildlife service said Thursday.
Each year the female crab from more than 40 different species of land crabs travel to land on the beach spawning Kenting National Park, on the southern tip of the island.
But the journey that contain animal being killed for them, because these crustaceans must cross the street is very busy on weekends.
"It was shocking when I heard a loud noise that crushed crab car wheels and see how their bodies are destroyed scattered along the highway," said Kuo Wei-mei, an official national park.
Two parts of the highway will be closed for six days, during two months in advance, in order to protect the animals, officials said.
In a statement, the headquarters of the national park was called on motorists to slow down their vehicles as they drive through the area. If necessary, they were asked to stop their vehicle.
"The driver was met if the stop and exit their cars and` hold `special meeting with the crab," according to the statement.
