Kabul (AFP) - Afghan troops and NATO-led forces have killed 30 insurgents in air and ground attacks in eastern Afghanistan on Saturday.International Assistance Force (ISAF) led NATO in a statement said more than 250 Afghan security personnel and coalition forces have been fighting militants in Laghman province, southeast of the capital Kabul, after receiving small arms attack.
There are no immediate reports of coalition or civilian casualties in the attack, the ISAF said continues.
Violence and casualties are increasing is a deep concern in Washington, where U.S. President Barack Obama will do the review of strategy increasingly unpopular war that December.
Afghanistan has received new scrutiny after parliamentary elections last weekend affected by violence and claims of widespread fraud, pemiliahn second spot in the 13 months after the presidential election.
Meanwhile, two ISAF soldiers were killed by the explosion of a homemade bomb in eastern Afghanistan Friday, ISAF said in a separate statement.
At least five militants were killed in a shootout that erupted after a suicide attacker attacked a NATO-led base in Paktia province in eastern Afghanistan. In a separate incident, a boy was killed and 27 civilians terlukan in another suicide attack in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif in northern Afghanistan.
