The couple said their trip was to fulfill their desires.
"This is our version of a pilgrimage to Santiago," said Arnold told German radio network, Hessische Rundfunk.
Witt and Arnold intends to swim as far as 10 to 15 miles per day - orders that are too long for the seven ducks that accompany them, which will plan for 20 minutes per liver. They will rest in the car or boat if they are too tired.
